Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present,the visioning workshop of the San Marcos City <br /> Council was called to order by Mayor Thomaides at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday, <br /> January 10,2018 in the Bluebonnet room at T Bar M Camps & Retreats,2549 <br /> State Highway 46 W, New Braunfels, Texas 78132. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Present: 7- Mayor Pro Tern Lisa Prewitt, Council Member Saul Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro <br /> Tern Scott Gregson, Council Member Melissa Derrick, Council Member Jane <br /> Hughson, Mayor John Thomaides and Council Member Ed Mihalkanin <br /> 1. Hold discussion and participate in Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Visioning Workshop, topics <br /> discussed may or may not include or be limited to: growth, quality of life, economic <br /> development policies,transportation, community partners, outreach, <br /> future infrastructure and facility needs, beautification and community enhancement, <br /> enhancement of core services including future staffing and personnel needs, flood <br /> mitigation strategies, and provide direction to Staff. <br /> Patrick Ibarra,with the Mejorando Group,welcomed the Council and <br /> Directors back for the second day of the visioning session. He introduced the <br /> hot topics discussion. <br /> A. Growth <br /> •Residential Housing Mix <br /> o Definition of workforce housing <br /> o Focus on gap housing needs for our workforce <br /> o Owner occupied <br /> o Housing that is not supported <br /> o Change the 70% renter vs.30%owner mix <br /> o Assess LDC, incentives,or Housing Policy or tools <br /> o Need for Code Enforcement <br /> • Land Use Code <br /> o Very brief discussion was held on this topic at this time.
