F, Suite 125 <br />Austin, TX 78729 <br />Re: Letter of Agreement for City of San Marcos Blanco River Flood Reduction, Structural Services <br />Aguirre & Fields, LP (the Sub -consultant) appreciates the opportunity to submit this letter of agreement to <br />Halff Associates, Inc. (the Prime) for structural engineering services on the City of San Marcos Blanco River <br />Flood Reduction Project. Per preliminary plans and discussions, the proposed effort shall include <br />development of flood reduction alternatives and an engineering feasibility report. Documents will be <br />submitted to the City of San Marcos for review as part of a larger flood reduction engineering effort led by <br />Halff Associates, Inc. <br />I. Scope of Work <br />A. Preliminary Engineering Phase 1- Flood Reduction Alternatives (Task 2.4) <br />L Develop conceptual designs for up to three (3) structural flood wall alternatives <br />ii. Prepare planning -level estimates of probable construction costs for each alternative <br />iii. Provide the City of San Marcos with a technical memo summarizing each alternative <br />iv. Refine initial alternatives as necessary based on input from the City of San Marcos <br />B. Preliminary Engineering Phase 2 -Schematic Design (Task 3.3) <br />i. Prepare schematic -level design of one (1) refined structural flood wall alternative selected <br />by the City of San Marcos <br />H. Prepare schematic -level estimates of probable construction costs for selected alternative <br />iii. Provide the City of San Marcos with an Engineering Feasibility Report summarizing the design <br />and estimated costs of the selected alternative <br />H. Proposed Fee <br />The proposed fees for Structural Engineering Services shall be on a not to exceed basis as follows: <br />A. Preliminary Engineering Phase 1- Flood Reduction Alternatives (Task 2.4) _ $ 18,750 <br />B. Preliminary Engineering Phase 2 - Schematic design (flask 3.3) s $ 11,300 <br />Reimbursable Costs = $ 240 <br />Ill. Schedule <br />Upon NTP and receipt of alternative -level geometrics, we anticipate development of Scope Item A, <br />Preliminary Engineering Phase 1- Flood Reduction Alternatives, to take 34 months. Upon selection <br />of the preferred alternative by the City of San Marcos and receipt of geotechnical and hydraulic <br />recommendations, we anticipate Scope Item B, Preliminary Engineering Phase 2 - Schematic Design, <br />to take 2-3 months. <br />IV.
