<br />Recommendations for Youth Services Funding <br />FY 2017-2018 <br />14 programs| $50,285total <br />Community Action, Inc. <br />Early Childhood Coalition of Hays County; Early Childhood Summit–The Texas Home Visiting Program grant, <br />operated by the Department of Family and Protective Services are funded by Senate Bill 426, was awarded to <br />Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas in May 2015. Texas Home Visiting Program supports communities in <br />operating evidence-based home visiting programs while creating a coordinated, comprehensive system of <br />services for pregnant women, young children, and their families.In 2015 Texas Home Visitingin collaboration <br />with Head Start Program, SMCISD and early childhood services providers in Hays County established an Early <br />Childhood Coalition ofHays County. <br />This coalition is a collaboration that coordinates multiple early childhood services to better promote child <br />development by supporting families and communities. The purpose of the summit is to increase community <br />awareness about the importanceof early development, to lay the foundation for lifelong health and well-being <br />and improve school readiness of all children. The main focus of the Coalition this year was implementation of <br />the EDI, setting goals and priorities, our work influenced our Summit agenda. The objective of the Summit is to <br />increase community awareness about the importance of early development, to lay the foundation for lifelong <br />health and well-being and improve school readiness of all children. Hays County EDI data was compared to the <br />national data, and the idea was to zoom in toHays County from the State level. Informing about child data at <br />the State level, existing statewide initiatives, discussing EDI of Hays County and ending with a panel of <br />providers talking about their work. <br />How they will measure program success:Program success ismeasured by increased family and community <br />engagement: participation in family nights, parent workshops, library attendance.
