ORDINANCE NO. 2018-17 <br /> ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS,TEXAS <br /> GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS; LEVYING AN AD VALOREM TAX IN SUPPORT <br /> OF THE BONDS; APPROVING A PAYING AGENT/REGISTRAR AGREEMENT,AN <br /> OFFICIAL STATEMENT,AND A PURCHASE AGREEMENT; ESTABLISHING <br /> PROCEDURES FOR SELLING AND DELIVERY OF ONE OR MORE SERIES OF THE <br /> BONDS; AND AUTHORIZING OTHER MATTERS RELATING TO THE BONDS <br /> THE STATE OF TEXAS <br /> COUNTIES OF HAYS, CALDWELL AND GUADALUPE <br /> CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> WHEREAS,at an election held within the City of San Marcos,Texas(the"City")on May 6, <br /> 2017 the voters of the City authorized the City Council of the City to issue in one or more series the <br /> bonds set forth in proposition numbers 1 and 2,which aggregate$32,200,000 in aggregate principal <br /> amount; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to issue all or a <br /> portion of the $17,450,000 in aggregate principal amount of the bonds authorized by Proposition <br /> Number 1 for the purpose of constructing, improving, renovating and equipping Public Safety <br /> Facilities to include the police and fire departments and related emergency and training facilities, <br /> including improvements to the police station,construction of a new Fire Station No. 8 and replacing <br /> existing Fire Station No. 2 and the acquisition of any necessary sites and related water,wastewater, <br /> drainage,streets, sidewalks, parking, infrastructure and other related costs and reserves the right to <br /> issue the remaining authorized but unissued bonds at such time as determined by the City Council; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to issue all or a <br /> portion of the $14,750,000 in aggregate principal amount of the bonds authorized by Proposition <br /> Number 2 for the purpose of constructing, renovating, improving, and equipping existing and/or <br /> additional City library facilities including acquisition of any necessary sites and related water, <br /> wastewater,drainage, streets,sidewalks,parking,infrastructure and other costs and reserves the right <br /> to issue the remaining authorized but unissued bonds at such time as determined by the City Council; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City for the Pricing <br /> Officer, as designated herein, to determine the amount to be used from each of the propositions <br /> described in the above recitals and the amount of remaining authorized but unissued bonds <br /> remaining from each proposition following the issuance of a series of Bond pursuant to this <br /> Ordinance, all as set for the in a Pricing Certificate; and <br /> CWnPnk\GORe18cImpSonds2015.Ordinance-Ada <br />
