Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present,the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br /> was called to order by Mayor Thomaides at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday,August 7, 2018 <br /> in the City Council Chambers,630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos,Texas 78666. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Council Member Gonzales was unable to attend due to an emergency at work. <br /> Present: 6- Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Prewitt, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott Gregson, Council <br /> Member Melissa Derrick,Council Member Jane Hughson, Mayor John Thomaides <br /> and Council Member Ed Mihalkanin <br /> Absent: 1 - Council Member Saul Gonzales <br /> r <br /> III. Invocation <br /> Deacon Robert Gutierrez with St. John Catholic Church provided this <br /> evening's invocation. <br /> IV. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas <br /> Council Member Hughson led the assembly in the pledges of allegiance. <br /> ACTION/DIRECTION FOLLOWING WORK SESSION EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> 1. Consider action, by motion, or provide direction to Staff regarding the following Executive <br /> Session item in accordance with Local Government Code Section § 551.087: Economic <br /> Development - to receive a briefing and deliberate regarding the potential offer of <br /> Economic Development Incentives to Project World Series and Project Duplo Series. <br /> The Mayor indicated that two separate projects were discussed during <br /> Executive Session and direction was provided to Staff. <br /> V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br /> Kate Shaw,spoke on the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter and stated this <br /> is one of the most dangerous places for an animal due to the high kill rate. She <br /> is asking that staff commit to a 90% no kill rate at the shelter. She believes <br /> City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
