RESOLUTION NO. 2018-61R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AN ACTION PLAN THAT OUTLINES <br />FURTHER MEASURES TO BE TAKEN TO IMPLEMENT OR ENHANCE <br />THE PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES OF THE NEWLY ADOPTED SAN <br />MARCOS DEVELOPMENT CODE ("CODE SMTX") AND ASSOCIATED <br />CHANGES TO THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AUTHORIZING <br />CITY STAFF TO UNDERTAKE SUCH EFFORTS AS ARE NECESSARY <br />TO IMPLEMENT SUCH MEASURES; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The following measures necessary to implement or enhance the purposes <br />and objectives of the newly adopted San Marcos Development Code ("Code SMTX") and <br />associated changes to the city's Comprehensive Plan, "Vision San Marcos: A River Runs Through <br />Us" are hereby approved: <br />A. Phase I (Anticipated 6 -Month Process): Initiate Neighborhood <br />Character Study discussions with residents and landowners within defined <br />neighborhoods. Scope to include identifying Small Areas for further study and <br />planning as outlined below. <br />B. Phase II (Anticipated 10 -Month Process): Gather input from and work <br />with neighborhood residents and landowners to complete a final draft for each <br />proposed Small Area Plan. <br />C. Phase III: Hold outreach with residents and landowners impacted by <br />each proposed Small Area Plan prior to its adoption. <br />D. Implement the City's Workforce Housing Initiative as directed by the <br />City Council's Affordable Housing Committee and City Council. <br />E. Update Vision San Marcos Comprehensive Plan. <br />F. Monitor the effectiveness of the City's new San Marcos Development <br />Code with the implementation of an annual Code Update process. <br />G. Initiation of Corridor Overlays including Wonder World Drive Plan. <br />H. Encourage growth in Intensity Zones identified through the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />
