ORDINANCE NO. 2018-43 <br /> / AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE, <br /> AND AT LEAST ONE ASSOCIATE JUDGE, FOR THE SAN <br /> MARCOS MUNICIPAL COURT OF RECORD, EACH FOR <br /> TERMS OF TWO YEARS; DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE AS <br /> AN EMERGENCY MEASURE TO ENABLE ADOPTION IN ONLY <br /> ONE READING; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS,TEXAS: <br /> SECTION 1. Dallari Landry is hereby appointed as presiding judge of the San <br /> Marcos Municipal Court of Record for a two year term. <br /> SECTION 2. John Burke is hereby appointed as associate judge(s) of the San <br /> Marcos Municipal Court of Record for a two year term. <br /> SECTION 3. Any presently sitting judges of the San Marcos Municipal Court of <br /> Record not expressly appointed or reappointed by this ordinance are not reappointed. <br /> SECTION 4. The terms of office for the appointments under Sections 1 and 2 <br /> shall commence on November 1, 2018. <br /> SECTION 5. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an <br /> imperative public necessity, and the provisions of the City Charter requiring that <br /> ordinances be presented at two separate meetings is hereby waived and, this ordinance <br /> will take effect upon its adoption. <br /> PASSED,APPROVED AND ADOPTED on October 16, 2018. <br /> John Thomaides <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: Approved: <br /> Jam.- Lee Case ichael J. entino <br /> City lerk City Attorney <br />
