RESOLUTION 2019-20R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD POSITIONS <br /> 5, 7 AND 8, AND RECONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF BOARD <br /> POSITIONS 6 AND 9, ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE <br /> ALLIANCE REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY (ARWA), FORMALLY <br /> KNOWN AS THE HAYS CALDWELL PUBLIC UTILITY AGENCY; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The governing bodies of the City of San Marcos, the City of Buda, the City of <br /> Kyle and the Canyon Regional Water Authority have adopted resolutions (the "Concurrent <br /> Resolutions") approving the creation of the Alliance Regional Water Authority (the "Authority") <br /> (formally known as the Hays Caldwell Public Utility Agency) in 2007 under the Texas Local <br /> Government Code Chapter 422, as amended (the "PUA Act"). During the 2017 Legislative <br /> Session, Senate Bill 1198 and House Bill 2540 were passed authorizing the name change from <br /> Hays Caldwell Public Utility Agency to Alliance Regional Water Authority. <br /> 2. The Concurrent Resolutions provide for the Authority to be governed by a Board <br /> of Directors(the"Authority Board") to which the City is entitled to appoint five members. <br /> 3. The terms for board positions 5, 7 and 8 are currently set to expire on April 30, <br /> 2019. The officials and employees named below in Part 1 of this resolution are the City's <br /> appointments to the Authority Board. All positions below are shown with updated term <br /> expirations. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> Part 1. The City Council hereby appoints and confirms the appointment of the following <br /> persons to serve as the City's representatives on the Board of Directors of the Alliance Regional <br /> Water Authority: <br /> Board <br /> Position Person Appointed <br /> 5 Mark Rockeymoore - April 30, 2022 <br /> 6 Jane Hughson—April 30, 2020 <br /> 7 Jon Clack—April 30, 2022 <br /> 8 Steve Parker—April 30, 2022 <br /> 9 Tom Taggart—April 30,2021 <br />
