(2) Ms. Hughson suggested <br />at the beginning of meetings the Council take time to recognize and thank <br />the Boards and Commissions at the first meeting each month and Staff <br />members at ~he second meeting each month. Mr. Doiron stated he thinks <br />this is needed. Mr. Mayhew stated we should also take this opportunity to <br />televize the names of the members and goals and objectives of each Board <br />and Commission being recognized. (3) Ms. Hughson stated the City and <br />SMCISD should discuss the location of any new schools. (4) Ms. Hughson <br />stated when Bishop is realigned, Bishop will need to be renamed between <br />Franklin and North LBJ, and Wonder World will have a North and South, and <br />we should begin the renaming process. (5) Ms. Hughson stated the City <br />should once again advise TML of the desire to schedule some of their <br />workshops on weekends rather than during the week so those with jobs will <br />be able to attend. '(6) Mayor Chiu stated he has received a letter from <br />Wade Thompson who would like to meet with the City Council and Hays County <br />in a joint meeting to discuss the Clean Air Force. (7) Mr. Moseley asked <br />if the Council is going to be able to meet with Messrs. Green and <br />Armbrister, and Mr. Gilley stated they are interested in holding a meeting <br />but are having a scheduling problem and will t~y to work this out. They <br />are willing to meet in Austin. (8) Mayor Chiu stated he will be attending <br />a Regional Meeting regarding Transportation issues involving Mark <br />Hazelwood of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and San Antonio Chamber of <br />Commerce. Mayor Chiu stated in March an additional Regional Meeting will <br />be held in San ~arcos involving Austin and San Antonio to discuss economic <br />development and water issues. A third meeting will be scheduled in Austin <br />regarding clean air. (9) Mr. Moseley advised the City Clerk's office <br />would be open for an additional day during the lunch hour to process birth <br />and death records, passport applications and receive open record requests. <br />The City Clerk's office will now be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and <br />Thursdays during the lunch hour for this purpose. (10) Mr. Cox stated in <br />the January meeting of the Main Street Advisory Board, they discussed <br />parking issues and banning glass bottles in the downtown area and will <br />probably be putting this information in writing to the Council. Mr. <br />Mayhew added the Convention and Visitors Bureau also discussed the glass <br />issue at their last meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government <br />Code, Sections 551.072 and 551.073, to discuss the following if public <br />discussion would have a detrimental effect on the City's position in <br />negotiations with a third person (value of real property - Bishop Street <br />Extension to Wonder World Drive); Section 551.074, to discuss the duties <br />of public officers (Planning and Zoning Commission); and Section 551.086, <br />to discuss coITffiercial or financial information the City has received from <br />a business prospect with which the City is conducting economic development <br />negotiations, or to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive <br />to such a business prospect (Ranch Road 12 area). Mr. Doiron moved the <br />Council adjourn into Executive Session at 8:30 p.m. and Ms. Tatum seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
