MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JULY 23, 2001 PRESENT: Mayor David Chiu Mayor Pro-Tern Deputy Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members * Jane Hughson Joe B. Womack Mark Taylor Ron Patterson Mark Brinkley Bob Higgs Also Present: Tom Wassenich, Dianne Wassenich, Dan Praver, Ed McCarthy, John Holtermann, Larry Sowards, Melissa Millecam, Shelley Goodwin, John Boswell, Sherri Russell, James Frye, Carol Coughlin, Murlin Evans, Wade Parham and others. Mayor Chiu called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Chiu introduced the Citizen comment period. speak. No one signed up to Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Youth Commission. Mayor Chiu moved to appoint Julio Toro as the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District representative and stated Mr. Toro will recommend a SMCISD student for the remaining appointment at the next meeting. The Council voted unanimously for approval of Mr. Toro. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Charter Review Commission. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Melvia Randle, Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Sue Cohen and Mr. Mayhew moved to appoint Matt Barron, which passed unanimously. The remaining appointment will be rescheduled for the next meeting. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Elliott Bazan, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Cox not present at this meeting.
