The specific reduction goals for each demand management <br />stage are as follows: <br />Stage 1: Reduce total water usage by 10%. <br />Stage 2: Reduce total water usage by 20%. <br />Stage 3: Reduce total water usage by 30%. <br />Stage 4: Reduce total water usage by 40%. <br />Stage 5: Reduce total water usage by 44%. <br />Emergency: Reduce total water usage as needed to protect human health, safety <br />and welfare. <br />5.0 Demand Management Measures <br />The City of San Marcos Drought Response Plan includes year-round restrictions and five <br />drought response stages with progressively stringent demand management measures for the <br />following: <br />Water waste; <br />Irrigation with hose-end sprinklers and automatic sprinkler irrigation systems; <br />Irrigation with hand-held bucket, hand-held hose, soaker hose and drip irrigation <br />systems; <br />Irrigation of golf courses, athletic fields and commercial nurseries; <br />Vehicle washing: <br />3 <br /> <br />
