Mr. Gilley feels TxDOT would be <br />willing to upgrade all existing infrastructures and the City might then have to pay for the <br />radio control system, and take over the maintenance. He also feels the community wants <br />to hear that the City does have a plan. Mr. Mihalkanin asked if the staff then needed <br />direction from the Council to go ahead and enter a partnership with TxDOT, Mr. Gilley <br />stated yes, the staff would need to know how and if the Council would like the staff to <br />approach TxDOT. Mr. Mihalkanin stated he felt the consensus of the Council would be <br />for Ms. Anderson to approach TxDOT about a partnership. The Council agreed. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding the City Councils' Report. Ms. Hughson <br />noted the request earlier in the meeting that if a zoning item goes to the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission, and they turn the item down, and the applicant decides to take the <br />matter to the City Council, then the same notifications as originally sent should be <br />repeated. Mr. Gilley stated this would be easy to do.
