ORDINANCE NO. 2019-11 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 38, FIRE PREVENTION AND <br />PROTECTION, OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY, AMONG <br />OTHER THINGS, PROVIDING THAT THE FIRE MARSHAL SHALL BE <br />APPOINTED BY THE FIRE CHIEF AND REVISING THE LOCAL <br />ADOPTION OF AND AMENDMENTS TO THE 2015 EDITION OF THE <br />INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, INCLUDING THE ADDITION OF <br />PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS AND PROVIDING THAT NO <br />CULPABLE MENTAL STATE IS REQUIRED FOR VIOLATIONS OF <br />THIS CHAPTER; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ANY <br />CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 38, Fire Prevention and Protection, of the San Marcos City Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follows (Added text is indicated by underlining. Deleted text is <br />indicated by strikethroughs.): <br />Chapter 38 <br />FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION <br />ARTICLE 1. IN GENERAL <br />Sec. 38.001. Reserved. <br />Sec. 38.002.
