Regular Meeting March 5, 2001 Page 5 Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 12 removed from the consent agenda, approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption of which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADDING A NEW DIVISION 18 TO CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 3 OF THE CITY CODE TO ESTABLISH A TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMISSION; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. Ms. Hughson moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and to include the new Item (b) (4) on Page 2 in Section 2.365 and Mr. Doiron seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson moved to amend the Ordinance to change the name from Transportation Advisory Commission to Transportation Advisory Board and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Doiron, Hughson, Chiu, Cox, Mayhew, Tatum. NAY: Moseley. ABSTAIN: None. The Council then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading. Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 15 removed from the consent agenda, adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO ADD ORGANIZATIONS THAT CAN ISSUE PARKING HOSPITALITY TAGS FOR PARKING DOWNTOWN AND DELINEATING SPACES WHERE VEHICLES WITH SUCH TAGS MAY PARK BY AMENDING ARTICLE 7 OF CHAPTER 82, TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES, OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson moved to amend the Ordinance on Page 2 in Section 82.293 (2) to change the language from VIP tag to hospitality tag and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council requested Staff advise how many tags have been used. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading.
