Mr. Moseley stated the City <br />may wish to budget funding for this event in our City budget. Mr. Corbin <br />stated they would like to host the Summit every two years. Mr. Moseley <br />stated the Youth Council should prepare a budget for this funding. (1) Mr. Doiron advised <br />the Council the Sesquicentennial Picnic was postponed and will be <br />rescheduled for July 4ili. (2) Mr. Cox asked if the Council wanted to <br />agendize adoption of the Resolution regarding the Clean Air Force for <br />March 26 and to contact Mr. Thompson to be present at the meeting. It was <br />consensus to schedule the Resolution. (3) Mr. Mayhew stated the Relay for <br />Life fundraising event is coming up and he is supportive of that. He <br />indicated last year there were complaints from the surrounding <br />neighborhoods from the noise. Mr. Gilley stated he has already met with <br />organizers and hopes things will go more smoothly this year. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government <br />Code, Section 551.074, to discuss the appointment of public officers <br />(process for appointment of Planning and Zoning Commission Members). The <br />Council discussed this matter publicly earlier in the meeting and did not <br />hold this Executive Session. <br /> <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 16, adoption of Ordinance on <br />third and final reading, tabled earlier in the meeting, the caption which <br />reads as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ARTICLE 2 OF CHAPTER 74 OF THE CITY CODE TO ADD A NEW <br />DIVISION 4 REGARDING OBSTRUCTIONS IN ALLEYS; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; <br />AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />Mr. Doiron moved the Council remove this matter from the table and for <br />adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading with amendments to <br />Section 74.103 to add a new Section (c) (1), (2) and (3) and Section (d) <br />and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Taylor <br />advised the Director of Public Works has to determine the alley boundaries <br />and would have to get a surveyor and there would be an expense involved. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Doiron and <br />seconded by Mr. Moseley. <br />
