CP Introduction <br /> The protection of greenspaces and other sensitive natural resources <br /> -s is important to the San Marcos community,with many feeling they <br /> are a necessary component to their health and wellbeing.This section <br /> highlights the existing greenspaces and natural resources in San Marcos, <br /> discusses the issues and needs associated with each area, and offers <br /> recommendations for the future. <br /> Existing Conditions <br /> Set out in Table 3.10, Existing Greenspace Areas, are the greenspaces in <br /> San Marcos.Together, they total over 1,480 acres and include 32 miles <br /> of walking and biking trails, one pavilion, three restrooms, and 108 <br /> parking spaces.The majority of the greenspaces are in the northwest <br /> part of the City(see Map 3.9, Existing Greenspaces, on page 104). <br /> Upper Purgatory Creek Natural Area is the largest greenspace with over <br /> 760 acres.The upper entrance is accessible from Valencia Way and the <br /> lower entrance is accessible from Hunter Road.
