Level of Service <br /> The purpose of a level of service analysis is to ensure that there <br /> is an adequate amount of park land acreage and facilities to <br /> serve the public as the community grows.A separate, but equally <br /> important,acreage level of service analysis evaluates how <br /> equitable the distribution of park land is across the City. <br /> Both analyses help plan for the future so that the need for <br /> additional park land can be determined(and if needed,acquired) <br /> before new areas are developed."Target"levels of service that are What is Level of <br /> unique to this Plan were created to determine an appropriate <br /> level of service for San Marcos that residents feel is the most Service? <br /> responsive to the amount of use of park land and also what is <br /> most important to the community. Existing and recommended quantity of park land or facilities <br /> levels of service are shown on Table 3.3, Park Land Level of Service per 1,000 residents. <br /> in San Marcos, 2018,on page 55. Recommended levels of service <br /> for the future are shown in Table 3.4, Park Land Level of Service in <br /> San Marcos,2030. <br /> For regional, community,and neighborhood parks recommended <br /> target levels of service have been created.These are based off of <br /> an analysis of the community and the existing park land. Currently, <br /> the City has a deficit in regional,community,and neighborhood <br /> park land. In 2030,that deficit will be even greater. <br /> For greenspace and natural areas there is no specific target level <br /> of service since these areas are undeveloped.
