NEIGHBORHOOD PARK DISTRIBUTION LEVEL OF SERVICE <br /> Neighborhood parks are used daily by residents and have a <br /> one-quarter-mile ideal service area and a one-half-mile standard <br /> service area.This area represents the typical distance park users <br /> would be willing to walk to a park. Since many of these HOA properties and schools are <br /> also located in and among the neighborhoods they serve,they <br /> oftentimes provide additional neighborhood-scale coverage in <br /> a community.As such,the same one-quarter-mile ideal service <br /> area and one-half-mile standard service area is shown on HOA <br /> park properties and elementary schools(and sometimes middle <br /> schools)across the City(see Map 3.5,Neighborhood Park and <br /> Public and Semipublic Park Accessibility,on page 60). <br /> When considering the service areas for both the City park <br /> properties and these semi-public park properties, it is clear <br /> that there is better coverage of neighborhood-scale park <br /> land.
