C INDEPENDENT LEAGUE ASSOCIATIONS <br /> Across the country, involvement in organized sports is shifting. <br /> In youth baseball and softball, participation is decreasing, but in <br /> other sports such as soccer, lacrosse, and cricket, it is increasing. <br /> Many of the organized youth and adult sport programs in <br /> San Marcos are offered by the City of San Marcos; however, <br /> there are two sports(youth baseball and youth soccer)that <br /> are offered by independent leagues. In these cases,the City's <br /> main job is to provide fields.Table 3.7, Independent League <br /> Associations/Sports, shows the various athletic leagues, both <br /> adult and youth,that are offered in San Marcos.
