Consider approval of Ordinance 2019-17, on the first of two readings, amending Chapter <br />22, Cemeteries, of the San Marcos City Code by, among other things, eliminating the <br />requirement for payment of a Perpetual Care Fee and dissolving the Perpetual Care <br />Fund, providing for Cemetery Commission approval of monuments over eight feet in <br />height, limiting placements in lots and columbarium niches, and providing for other <br />miscellaneous changes; providing for the repeal of any conflicting provisions; and <br />providing an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Mihalkanin, seconded by Council <br />Member Derrick, to approve Ordinance 2019-17, on the first of two readings. <br />The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin, Council Member Marquez and Council <br />Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 0 <br />15. Consider approval of Resolution 2019-103R, approving a Fee Policy that incorporates a <br />cost recovery methodology; and declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Derrick, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem <br />Prewitt, to approve Resolution 2019-103R.
