<br />153. <br />Regular Meeting July 24, 2000 Page 6 <br />purpose in being here is to promote tourism to San Marcos. Mr. Doiron <br />stated the Council has already requested Staff to reduce the budget. Mr. <br />Cox stated he was not willing to raise property taxes to fund this. He <br />stated the partnership was funded by adjusting our sales tax revenue. Ms. <br />Tatum stated she is not opposed to having this partnership. She stated we <br />may not be able to fund $150,000.00, but was interested in looking at some <br />amount. Mr. Cox stated he is also interested. Staff was directed to <br />agendize this matter. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government <br />Code, Section 551.071, to seek the City Attorney's advice regarding <br />drainage utility delinquent payments; and Sections 551.072 and 551.073, to <br />discuss negotiated contracts for prospective gifts or donations to the <br />City (Parkland - Ranch Road 12 area). Mr. Moseley moved to adjourn into <br />Executive Session at 8:54 p.m. and Mr. Mayhew seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Doiron moved to reconvene at 9:49 p.m. and Mr. Moseley seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Moseley moved to remove from the table Item 6.E. and for approval for <br />the City to pay one-half the personnel costs for the school crossing <br />guards employed by SMCISD and Mr. Doiron seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Doiron and <br />seconded by Mr. Mayhew. <br /> . <br /> \ <br /> .
