City Council Meeting Minutes June 27, 2019 <br />MOTION TO AMEND: a motion was made by Council Member Derrick, <br />seconded by Council Member Mihalkanin, to amend Ordinance 2019-19 by <br />striking the word "or structure" everywhere it states building or structure. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin, Council Member Marquez and Council <br />Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 0 <br />MOTION TO AMEND: a motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br />Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, to amend language in Section 2. by removing "city's <br />most recent" and adding "draft My Historic SMTX Historic Resources Survey <br />received by the City June 2019" <br />The section will now read: <br />SECTION 2. No building that is identified as historically significant in the <br />draft My Historic SMTX Historic Resources survey received by the City June <br />2019 or that is at least 45 years of age, nor any part of or addition to such <br />building or structure, may be demolished or removed unless a permit <br />authorizing such demolition or removal has been issued by the city. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin and Council Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 1 - Council Member Marquez <br />MOTION TO TABLE: a motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br />Council Member Derrick, to table Ordinance 2019-19 in order to give staff <br />some time to review the questions posed by council members. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin, Council Member Marquez and Council <br />Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 0 <br />2. Provide direction to the city staff and the Historic Preservation Commission to provide <br />recommendations pertaining to demolition of historic structures. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Rockeymoore, seconded by Council <br />Member Prewitt, allowing City Staff and the Historic Preservation Commission <br />to provide recommendations pertaining to demolition of historic structures. <br />The motion carried by the following vote: <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
