City Council Meeting Minutes October 15, 2019 <br />For: 6 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin and Council Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 1 - Council Member Marquez <br />14. Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments for or <br />against Ordinance 2019-34, annexing into the City approximately 102.434 acres of land <br />out of the Barnette O. Kane Survey, Abstract No. 281, generally located at 2357 <br />Redwood Road; including procedural provisions; and providing an effective date; and <br />Consider approval of Ordinance 2019-34, on the first of two readings. <br />Shannon Mattingly, Director of Planning and Development Services, provided <br />a brief presentation regarding the annexation of approximately 102.434 acres <br />of land located at 2357 Redwood Road. <br />Mayor Hughson opened the Public Hearing at 7:12 p.m. <br />There being no comments, the Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 7:12 p.m. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, seconded by Council Member <br />Gonzales, to approve Ordinance 2019-34, on the first of two readings. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Gonzales, Council Member Derrick, Mayor <br />Hughson, Council Member Mihalkanin and Council Member Rockeymoore <br />Against: 1 - Council Member Marquez <br />15. Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments for or <br />against Ordinance 2019-35, amending the Official Zoning Map of the City by rezoning <br />approximately 8.534 acres of land out of the Barnette O. Kane Survey, Abstract No. 281, <br />Hays County, Texas, located at the 1600 Block of Redwood Road from "FD" Future <br />Development to "CD -4" Character District - 4, and including procedural provisions; and <br />consider approval of Ordinance 2019-35, on the first of two readings. <br />Shannon Mattingly, Director of Planning and Development Services, provided <br />the Council with a brief presentation regarding the rezoning request of <br />approximately 8.534 acres of land located at 1600 block of Redwood Road <br />from "FD" Future Development to "CD -4" Character District -4. She provided <br />that the developer will be platting the remainder of the annexed land and <br />additional zoning requests will be coming back at a later time. <br />Mayor Hughson opened the Public Hearing at 7:17p.m. <br />Those who spoke: <br />Roland Saucedo, spoke in favor of this project.
