DIVISION 2: MINIMUM PARKING REQUIREMENTS <br />Section 7.1.4.3 Parking Lot Landscaping <br />C. Interior Islands <br />1. A landscaped interior island must be provided every 10 parking spaces. Interior islands must be distributed <br />34 evenly throughout the parking area. a kpan i <br />ti <br />An interior island abutting a single row of parking spaces must be a minimum of 9 feet in width and 150 square <br />feet in area. Each island must include one shade tree. <br />3. An interior island abutting a double row of parking spaces must be a minimum of 9 feet in width and 300 square <br />feet in area. Each island must include 2 shade trees. <br />4. All rows of parking must terminate with a landscaped interior terminal island. No more than 30 parking spaces <br />may be located between terminal islands. <br />5. Interior islands may be consolidated or intervals may be expanded in order to preserve existing trees. <br />6. Interior islands must be installed below the level of the parking lot surface to allow for runoff capture and be <br />designed to infiltrate runoff water within 24 hours. <br />Artide 2: Landscaping and Screening <br />(VISION 2: TRANSITIONAL PROTECTIVE YARDS <br />L!5ection 7.2.2.1 Intent <br />_3transitional protective yard is intended to minimize conflicts between potentially incompatible, but otherwise <br />permitted land uses on abutting property. A transitional protective yard may be located within a required setback. <br />Section 7.2.2.2Applicability <br />Transitional protective yards shall be required for all new development along interior side lot lines and rear lot lines. A <br />re aired transitional protective yard is required as scified in the table below; <br />Section 7.2.2.3 Use Protective Yard. <br />A use protective yard may also be required along perimeter lot lines for specific uses in accordance with Chapter 5. <br />Section 7.2.2.4 Protective Yard Installation Requirements <br />B. Location <br />1. A required protective yard must be located within the outer perimeter of the lot, parallel to and extending to <br />the property boundary line. A required protective yard must be provided along the entire frontage immediately <br />abutting the property line. Landscaping must be planted on the inside of the required protective yard. <br />2. A required protective yard may not be located within any portion of an existing, dedicated or reserved public <br />right-of-way. <br />3. Breaks for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle access are allowed. Driveways or walkways must cross a protective <br />yard at as near a perpendicular angle as practical. <br />4. The width of a required protective yard is calculated on the average width per 100 feet or portion of protective <br />yard. The minimum width of the protective yard at any one point cannot be less than one-half the required <br />width of the protective yard. <br />Section 7.2.6.2 General Requirements <br />G. Fences and Walls Adjacent to a Street, Park or Greenway <br />1. A fence or wall located within the first layer along a primary frontage shall be 48 inches or less in height and 50% <br />open. <br />36 <br />12. A fence or wall located within toe 4Fst aye -r 20 feet frorn the curb along a secondary frontage shall be 48 inches <br />or less in height and 50% open. <br />3.
