(~4 23) Political signs less than 36 square feet in size and less than eight feet in height. <br />(d) Effect .Approval of a sign permit authorizes the placement, construction, repair or other <br />activity authorized by the permit in accordance with its terms. <br />Section 1.9.5.2 Application Requirements <br />(a) Responsible Official .The Planning Director is the responsible official for a sign permit. <br />(b) Contents . An application for a sign permit shall be prepared in accordance with Chapter <br />of the Technical Manual. <br />Section 1.9.5.3 Decision <br />(a) Decision. The Director shall either approve, conditionally approve or deny the application <br />for a sign permit. If a variance petition has been submitted to the Zoning Board of Adjustments <br />and Appeals, the Director shall suspend the Director's decision until after the petition is decided. <br />(b) Time for Decision. The Director shall make a decision on the permit within five working <br />days after all requested materials including, but not limited to, drawings, specifications, and <br />other information necessary to adequately review the application has been provided b <br />a licant• , or, if a variance petition is pending, within five working days <br />of the date the Director is notified of the Zoning Board of Adjustments' decision on the petition. <br />(c) Amendments .After the approval of a sign permit, an applicant shall not be required to <br />submit an amended application, if proposed amendments do not involve changes to the location, <br />sign type, electrification or increase in size or height of the sign. <br />Section 1.9.5.4 Appeal and Relief Procedures <br />(a) Appeal .The applicant and any interested person may appeal the Planning Director's <br />decision on a sign permit to the Zoning Board of Adjustments in accordance with Article 10, <br />Division 1 of this Chapter 1. The Zoning Board of Adjustments shall decide the appeal in <br />accordance with Article 10, Division 1. <br />(b) Variances .The applicant may file a petition for variances to the standards applicable to a <br />sign permit (other than those pertaining to CEVM signs) in accordance with Article 10, Division <br />2 of this Chapter 1 to the Zoning Board of Adjustments. The Zoning Board of Adjustments' <br />decision on the petition shall be in accordance with the criteria in Article 10, Division 2 of this <br />Chapter 1. <br />(c) Vested Rights Petition .The applicant may file a vested rights petition with the application <br />for a sign permit. The petition shall be decided in accordance with the procedures in Article 10, <br />Division 4 of this Chapter 1. <br />4 <br />
