TO EXTEND AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR THE <br /> PROVISION OF OVERHEAD SERVICE CABLE TO THE ELECTRIC UTILITY <br /> DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON <br /> BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TEXAS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER <br /> IN SAN MARCOS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF RUTH ANN GILBERT AS TEMPORARY ASSISTANT <br /> CITY CLERK FOR PURPOSES OF VITAL STATISTICS RECORDS ADMINISTRATION; <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE CAPITAL AREA EASTER <br /> SEAL SOCIETY FOR MAINTENANCE OF CITY PROPERTY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 8.B. removed from the consent <br />agenda, approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br /> AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE <br /> SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY THE ADDITION OF PARKING LIMITATIONS IN THE <br /> PARKING LOTS OF THE FISH HATCHERY, VERAMENDI PLAZA, PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND CITY PARK; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br /> PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Doiron moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Ms. <br />Hughson seconded the motion. Mr. Doiron stated one hour is not enough <br />time for tubing the river, and Ms. Hughson stated she is not comfortable <br />with the limitation of time, especially for tourists. Ms. Tatum asked if <br />SWT had been contacted for input, and Mr. Gilley stated they have not on <br />this proposal, but have been advised by the Parks Department the Council <br />is considering this matter. Ms. Hughson stated SWT's bus routes were <br />inadequate near the downtown area and possibly the University could look <br />at the bus routing. Mr. Doiron stated this matter should be tabled until <br />the details can be worked out.
