C[>BGAction <br />Plan City <br />of Sari Marcos, TX <br />of flash and river flood ing- related deaths annually, Texas, op8oifin8|k/ the Hill Country, is <br />the most flash flood -prone region found in North America. The eastern part of San Marcos <br />is Blackland Prairie while the western part of the city consists of forested or grassy rolling <br />hills, often marked with cacti. The San Marcos River and the Blanco River' part ofthe <br />Guadalupe watershed, flow through the oity, along with Cottonwood Creek, Purgatory <br />Creek, Sink Creek, and Willow Springs Creek. The San Marcos River begins at San Marcos <br />Springs, rising from the Edvvmnie Aquifer into Spring Lake. The upper river flows through <br />Texas State University and San Marcos and is o popular recreational area.
