17, MEMO To: From: Subject: Date: Mayor David Chiu and City Council Members Charter Review Commission Report of the 2001 Charter Review Commission December 11,2001 The 2001 Charter Review Commission, appointed by the City Council in July and August of this year, has concluded its work, and presents this report to the City Council with recommendations for amendments to the City Charter to be submitted to City voters for approval in the May, 2002 City election. Underlining indicates language proposed to be added, and overstrike indicates language proposed to be deleted. The wording of each of the proposed changes is followed by a brief statement of the Commission's rationale for the change. A. SUBSTANTIVE REVISIONS 1. Amend Section 3.02(a)(2) ref!ardinf! residence requirements for citv council members as follows: Sec. 3.02. Qualifications.
