<br /> <br />17, <br /> <br />MEMO <br /> <br />To: <br />From: <br />Subject: <br />Date: <br /> <br />Mayor David Chiu and City Council Members <br />Charter Review Commission <br />Report of the 2001 Charter Review Commission <br />December 11,2001 <br /> <br />The 2001 Charter Review Commission, appointed by the City Council in July and August of this <br />year, has concluded its work, and presents this report to the City Council with recommendations for <br />amendments to the City Charter to be submitted to City voters for approval in the May, 2002 City <br />election. <br /> <br /> <br />Underlining indicates language proposed to be added, and overstrike indicates language proposed <br />to be deleted. The wording of each of the proposed changes is followed by a brief statement of the <br />Commission's rationale for the change. <br /> <br />A. SUBSTANTIVE REVISIONS <br /> <br />1. Amend Section 3.02(a)(2) ref!ardinf! residence requirements for citv council members as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 3.02.
