<br /> 71. <br />Regular Meeting April 8, 2002 Page 10 <br />Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Ms. Tatum seconded <br />the motion. Ms. Hughson moved for amendment on page 3 section 1.3 number <br />1. 3.2 last sentence to read, "The Engineer will provide this data base to <br />the City and in electronic format acceptable to the City", and in number <br />1. 3.3 change last sentence from "Traffic Master plan" to read <br />"Transportation Master Plan", and Ms. Tatum seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of <br />the Resolution. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced for consideration Item 35 removed from the consent <br />agenda, approval of the fiscal 2001 financial audit. Mr. Cox moved for <br />approval of the fiscal 2001 financial audit, and Ms. Tatum seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Cox inquired whether staff has implemented the internal <br />control procedures recommended. Mr. Gilley stated the staff has <br />implemented these procedures. The Council then voted unanimously to <br />approve the fiscal 2001 financial audit. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding tax-exempt multi-family <br />property. Mr. Mihalkanin stated he has received calls from citizens <br />concerned with privately built facilities, which are being taken off the <br />tax rolls. Ms. Hughson suggested staff contact the appropriate State <br />agency to find out the protest procedures for facilities being taken off <br />the tax rolls. Mr. Gilley stated Staff would research this issue and <br />suggested Council consider introducing a Resolution for Texas Municipal <br />League regarding nontaxable facilities. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding a proposal for the <br />requirement for dedication of public land. Mr. Mihalkanin stated Dr. <br />Rogers' letter regarding a Task Force proposal be considered in the course <br />of the Land Development Code Project. Council agreed by consensus. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding Downtown Parking. Mayor Chiu <br />asked for this discussion item be tabled until the April 22, 2002 Regular <br />Council Meeting. Council agreed by consensus. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding naming the Animal Shelter <br />after Betty Jane Kissler. Mayor Chiu stated he would like the Animal <br />Shelter to be named after former Council Member Betty Jane Kissler who <br />recently passed away. He also stated he lS removing his request after <br />realizing the Ordinance for establishing names of buildings requlres the <br />person be deceased for at least two years and that there may be another <br />way to honor her. <br />Mayor Chiu introduced a discussion regarding the City Council's Report. <br />Ms. Tatum stated she wanted staff to look at different dates for Gene <br />Martin, Boys and Girls Club, to come and give his presentation on the <br />benefits of a Boys and Girls Club. Mayor Chiu stated the Austin Area <br />Research Organization is extending their invitation to all Council Members <br />for the meeting on Friday, April 12, 2002, from noon to 4:00 PM in Austin. <br />
