SECTION 2. The temporary waivers provided in Section 1 of this ordinance may be <br />extended by subsequent ordinance of the City Council during the continuation of the current <br />declaration of a local state of disaster within San Marcos, Texas due to the COVID-19 pandemic. <br />SECTION 3. Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed as a waiver of the obligation of <br />any person operating a hotel in San Marcos to collect, report, and remit hotel occupancy taxes. <br />SECTION 4. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative <br />public necessity, and the provisions of the San Marcos City Charter requiring that ordinances be <br />presented at two separate meetings are hereby waived and, this ordinance will take effect <br />immediately upon adoption. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED ON ONE READING on April 7, 2020. <br />A st: <br />Tammy K.
