RESOLUTION NO. 2020-141R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF THE <br />SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE LYDA HILL <br />LONE STAR GRANT PROGRAM BY THE SAN MARCOS RIVER <br />FOUNDATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS GREENBELT ALLIANCE TO <br />FUND A TRAIL CONNECTING PURGATORY CREEK TO THE <br />SPRING LAKE NATURAL AREA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING REGARDING THE <br />RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF EACH PARTY AND ANY OTHER <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PROJECT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council expresses its support of the submission of a grant <br />application to the Lyda Hill Lone Star Grant Program by the San Marcos River <br />Foundation in partnership with the City of San Marcos and the San Marcos Greenbelt <br />Alliance to fund a trail connecting Purgatory Creek to the Spring Lake Natural Area <br />"Project". <br />PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute a <br />Memorandum of Understanding regarding the rights and duties of each party and any <br />other documents necessary to effectuate the Project. <br />PART 3.
