<br />132 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 12, 1982 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval for allocation <br />of contingency funds for internship positions in the Planning Depart- <br />ment and City Secretary's office. Mr. Farr moved that the City par- <br />ticipate with Southwest Texas State University in the intern program <br />and allocation of contingency funds to do so and Mr. Brown seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Council then received a status report from Don Butler on the <br />San Marcos Telephone Company rate increase. Mr. Butler advised <br />the Council the Telephone Company was seeking $1.2 million increase, <br />of approximately 20%. A hearing date is scheduled May 4, 1982 at <br />9:00 a.m., but a decision will probably not be made before some time <br />in June. Mr. Butler feels the Telephone Company is entitled to an in- <br />crease, but not the amount requested.
