RESOLUTION NO. 2020-157R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN ELECTION SERVICES <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE HAYS COUNTY ELECTION <br />ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE PROVISION OF ELECTION SERVICES <br />FOR THE CITY'S GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD <br />ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020 AND, IF NECESSARY, A RUNOFF ELECTION <br />TO BE HELD IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; AUTHORIZING <br />THE INTERIM CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City and the Hays County Election Administrator are authorized to execute an <br />Election Services Agreement pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Election Code, Chapter 31, <br />Subchapter D, for the conduct and supervision of the City's General and Special Election to be <br />held on November 3, 2020 and, if necessary, a runoff election to be held in accordance with State <br />Law (the "Election(s)"). <br />2. The City and Hays County Election Administrator have determined that it is in the <br />City's best interest to contract for the provision of election services necessary to conduct the City's <br />Election(s). <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The attached Election Services Agreement between the Hays County Election <br />Administrator and the City authorizing the Election Administrator to conduct the City's election(s) <br />is approved. <br />City. <br />PART 2. The Interim City Clerk is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the <br />PART 3.
