RESOLUTION NO. 2020-158R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND HAYS COUNTY FOR THE <br />HOLDING OF A JOINT ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, <br />2020; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO <br />EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that it is <br />in the best interest of the City to cooperate with Hays County in holding a joint election to be held <br />on November 3, 2020. <br />2. Hays County is willing to participate in holding a joint election. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The attached Joint Election Agreement between the City of San Marcos and <br />Hays County for holding ajoint election to be held on November 3, 2020 is approved. <br />PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the Joint Election <br />Agreement on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
