SAN MARCOS TRANSIT PLAN I FINALREPORT <br />City of San Marcos <br />Improve pedestrian access <br />Coordinate with Streets/Sidewalks division to improve access <br />to transit. Coordinate with Traffic division to implement spot <br />improvements at challenging intersections and priority <br />treatments along majortransit corridors. <br />Enter into an interlocal agreement with Texas State <br />University <br />Establish an equitable formula and timeline for sharing transit <br />funds awarded to the San Marcos urbanized area. The City of <br />San Marcos is willingto work with Texas State University in <br />obtaining FTAgrantee status if desired. <br />Offer a real-time bus arrival app <br />Texas State University offers an app that provides real-time <br />arrival predictions that is widelyused by B obcat Shuttle riders. <br />Make the same app or a similar app available to San Marcos <br />Transit riders. <br />Develop a unified brand <br />Partner with Texas State University to develop a single brand <br />to make it easier for existing and potentialriders to take <br />advantage of complimentary transit services. <br />Expand marketing and communications <br />Strategic marketing and communications can attract new <br />riders, maximize customer satisfaction, and buil d support from <br />community members and local businesses. <br />Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc. 11-8 <br />
