SAN MARCOS TRANSIT PLAN I FINALREPORT <br />City of San Marcos <br />Stakeholder Discussion <br />On January 29,202o, a stakeholder discussion was held to share the same information. <br />Representatives of community groups, social services, Texas State University, CARTS, City of San <br />Marcos departments, and San Marcos CityCouncilwere convened for a transit discussion. The <br />stakeholder discussionbegan with a brief presentation followedby questions and comments. <br />Several stakeholders expressed a strong desire for more frequent service. Stakeholders also <br />suggested at least one local route with 15 -minute service. Stakeholders also expressed a need for <br />enhanced multimodal options to improve first/last mile connectivityto transit. Stakeholders also <br />expressed concerns overlosing service to the Southwest Hills and Bishop neighborhoods, as well <br />as Scheib Center. <br />Questions that came up during the discussion were related to the paratransit service area, the <br />potential for demand -response service to replace fixed -route service, andthe potential for <br />Amazonto provide financial contributions to serve their distribution center. <br />Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc.
