RESOLUTION NO.2020-27OR <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS CREATING THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT -MITIGATION ("CDBG-MIT") ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE; DESIGNATING THE INITIAL MEMBERS OF THE <br />COMMITTEE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On March 3, 2020, City Council approved Resolution No. 2020-49R adopting the <br />Community Development Block Grant -Mitigation ("CDBG-MIT") Action Plan, which provides <br />for the allocation of $24,012,000 in grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development (HUD). <br />2. HUD requires the creation of a CDBG-MIT advisory committee to provide input <br />regarding the use of the CDBG-MIT grant funds. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />PART 1. The Community Development Block Grant -Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) <br />Advisory Committee is hereby established. <br />PART 2. The committee shall provide input on matters pertaining to the CDBG-MIT <br />Grant, as follows: <br />1. Transparency: Advise staff on best means of keeping the public informed <br />about progress on the projects, especially those most affected by the scope of each project. <br />2. Input: Consider and discuss the actual and perceived impacts of the projects <br />on neighborhoods. <br />3. Forum: In the context of the projects that have been selected for CDBG- <br />MIT funds, consider whether something has been missed that should be considered in their <br />implementation. <br />The committee shall preform any other duties as may be assigned by the City Council from time <br />to time, or as required by applicable regulations. <br />PART 3. The committee will meet as needed, but no less than twice per year throughout <br />the life of the grant, which could be through the year 2032. <br />PART 4. Consistent with applicable regulations, the City Council may determine the <br />qualifications, number and terms of persons appointed to the committee.
