City Council Meeting Minutes February 24, 2021 <br />try to have a diverse commission and they don't meet frequently but it has <br />been a challenge to receive candidates. Ms. Spaeck stated if an applicant <br />applies online, the City Clerk forwards the application to the Human <br />Resources department. <br />Council Member Garza stated the website doesn't have much information and <br />didn't understand the purpose of the commission. She would like to see more <br />diverse perspective and will be reaching out to the public for any interest. <br />Mr. Lumbreras stated we need to do more for the boards and commission <br />process but it is not correct to say that we haven't followed the process. The <br />commission is technical and will continue to give recommendations and will <br />accept suggestions for the process. Mr. Lumbreras would like for council to <br />make this confirmation of the appointee. <br />Mayor Hughson noted that this Commission is on the list of all boards and <br />commissions and there is publicity every year to request applicants for all of <br />them. There were no applications for this commission this year. <br />The motion to postpone failed by the following vote: <br />For: 2 - Council Member Baker and Council Member Gonzales <br />Against: 5 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council <br />Member Garza and Council Member Gleason <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Mayor <br />Hughson, to approve Resolution 2021-27R. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Pro Tem Derrick, Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member <br />Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Garza and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />4. Consider approval of Resolution 2021-28R, approving a Change in Service to the <br />agreement with Dell Marketing, LP through the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts <br />Department of Information Resources program for the purchase of VMware equipment <br />and support services in the estimated annual amount of $49,821.26 and authorizing four <br />additional annual renewals; authorizing the City Manager or his designee to execute the <br />appropriate documents to implement the Change in Service; and declaring an effective <br />date. <br />5. Consider approval of Resolution 2021-30R, approving a Change in Service to the <br />agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to add additional engineering design <br />services for the Hopkins Street Improvements project in the estimated amount of <br />City of San Marcos Page 6 <br />
