In accordance with Section 14.241 of the Code, you are hereby notified that you must obtain a permit within ten (10) days of the receipt of this letter for the repair of the residential structure, your home. The conditions, which make the structure unsafe, are as follows: A. The foundation or vertical / horizontal supporting members are damaged or deteriorated to such an extent that the building may collapse from their own weight or from the effects of wind, rain, or other natural causes. B. The exterior roof, walls or flooring is damaged, dilapidated or decayed to such an extent that the elements and vermin are not sealed out of the structure. C. The means of egress are manifestly unsafe or unusable. D. The condition of the electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system serving the building poses a manifest hazard to other persons, or property. E. The structure has been damaged by wind, water or other causes to such an extent that the structures are beginning to become unsafe. F. If you choose a public hearing, the hearing will be held at the City of San Marcos Municipal Court. You have the right to formulate a concise plan to repair the structure.
