All CDBG-DR activities must clearly address a direct or indirect impact of the disaster andmeet a <br />National Objective. National Objectives are: <br />Activities Benefiting Low/Moderate Income (LMI) Persons; <br />Prevention/Elimination of Slums or Blight <br />Urgent Needs; requiresthat the activity or activities alleviate conditions which pose a <br />serious and immediate threat to community health/welfare <br />Grantees may use CDBG-DR funds for recovery efforts involving the following categories ofeligible <br />activities: <br />Housing <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />Single Family Owner Occupied <br />o Rehabilitation <br />o Reconstruction/New Construction <br />o Buy Out/Acquisition <br />Single and Multifamily Rental Units <br />o Rehabilitation <br />o Reconstruction/New Construction <br />o Buy Out/Acquisition <br />Infrastructure <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />Improvements to Roads/Bridges, Water Treatment Facilities, Sewer and Water Lines <br />Drainage <br />Repair/Replacement/Relocation of Public Facilities <br />Erosion Control <br />Economic Development/Revitalization <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />Providing loans and grants to businesses <br />Funding job training <br />Making improvements to commercial/retail districts <br />Prevention of Further Damage to Affected Areas <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />Hardening of infrastructure in flooded areas <br />Elevation of publicutilities <br /> <br />
