i <br />All CDBG-DR activities must clearly address a direct or indirect impact of the disaster and meet a <br />National Objective. National Objectivesare: <br />• Activities Benefiting Low/Moderate Income (LMI) Persons; <br />• Prevention/Elimination of Slums or Blight <br />• Urgent Needs; requires that the activity or activities alleviate conditions which pose a <br />serious and immediate threat to community health/welfare <br />Grantees may use CDBG-DR funds for recovery efforts involving the following categories of eligible <br />activities: <br />Housing <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />• Single Family Owner Occupied <br />o Rehabilitation <br />o Reconstruction/New Construction <br />o Buy Out/Acquisition <br />• Single and Multifamily Rental Units <br />o Rehabilitation <br />o Reconstruction/New Construction <br />o Buy Out/Acquisition <br />Infrastructure <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />• Improvements to Roads/Bridges, Water Treatment Facilities, Sewer and Water Lines <br />• Drainage <br />• Repair/Replacement/Relocation of Public Facilities <br />• Erosion Control <br />Economic Development/Revitalization <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />• Providing loans and grants to businesses <br />• Funding job training <br />• Making improvements to commercial/retail districts <br />Prevention of Further Damage to Affected Areas <br />Examples of activities typically undertaken: <br />• Hardening of infrastructure in flooded areas <br />• Elevation of public utilities <br />
