The higher the RDC for a runway, <br />the higher the allowable crosswind component for the runway will be. <br />Currently, the established RDC for Runway 8/26 and Runway 17/35 is B-II which has <br />an allowable crosswind component of 13 knots. Completed <br />5/3/19. <br />Based on this analysis, Runway 17/35 meets the FAA wind coverage requirement <br />(95% or more) for the RDC B-II crosswind component of 13 knots and Runway 13/31 <br />meets the same requirement for the RDC C-II crosswind component of 16 knots. <br />Runway 8/26 does not meet the wind coverage requirement for a runway with a B-II <br />RDC. <br />In general, Runway 17/35 has the best wind coverage of the three runways at the <br />San Marcos Regional Airport with over 96.62% wind coverage in all three crosswind <br />component categories (e.g. all-weather, IFR, and VFR).
