The segmented circle associated with the windsock <br />is in good condition. <br />There are four supplemental windsocks at the San Marcos Regional Airport at the <br />following locations: <br /> Supplemental Windsock #1 Located close to the approach end of Runway <br />13, approximately 380 feet southwest of Runway 13/31 centerline and 925 <br />feet from Runway 13 threshold. <br /> Supplemental Windsock #2 Located southeast of the intersection of <br />Runway 8/26 and Runway 13/31. Approximately 410 feet from e <br />respective centerline. <br /> Supplemental Windsock #3 Located approximately 410 feet south of <br />Runway 8/26 centerline and 790 feet from Runway 8 threshold. <br /> Supplemental Windsock #4 Located approximately 400 feet west of Runway <br />17/35 centerline and 1,020 feet from Runway 17 threshold. <br />All four supplemental windsocks are in good condition, but they are not lighted. As <br />part of the alternatives analysis, consideration will be given to lighting the <br />windsocks close to runway ends to improve visibility. <br />The primary airport beacon is located on top of the Air Traffic Control Tower and is <br />in good condition. There is also a backup beacon located on top of the old air traffic <br />control tower building, known as the Graham Tower. No changes to the airport <br />beacon are expected to be needed during the forecast period. <br />Airport Navigation Aids (NAVAIDs) are installed on or near an airport to increase the <br />Airport's reliability during night and inclement weather conditions and to provide <br />electronic guidance and visual references for executing an approach to the Airport <br />or runway. <br />FAA Order 7031.2C, Airport Planning Standard Number One - Terminal Air Navigation <br />Facilities and Air Traffic Control Services, specifies minimum activity levels to qualify <br />for instrument approach equipment and approach procedures.
