AIRPORT MASTER PLAN <br /> <br />L ANDSIDE F ACILITIES <br />Landside facilities are those that support the movement of personnel and property <br />to/from the airport to the surrounding community. Landside facilities typically <br />include access roads and vehicle parking areas. <br />Sufficient vehicle parking is critical to the operation of an airport. Typically, people <br />arrive at the airport in a personal vehicle and park it while conducting business on <br />airport property. With the exception of the vehicle parking associated with the FBO <br />facilities, very little designated vehicle parking exists. Below is a list of the <br />designated vehicle parking areas available at the airport: <br /> Berry Aviation Main Hangar 16 parking spaces <br /> Coast Flight Building 14 parking spaces <br /> CAF Hangar 18 parking spaces <br /> City-Owned T-Hangar Lot 13 parking spaces <br /> Texas State Aviation Hangar Unmarked parking lot <br /> Civil Air Patrol Building Unmarked parking lot <br /> Taxiway Kilo Development Area 24 parking spaces <br />Since limited vehicle parking is avaliable, vehicles are frequently parked inside <br />hangars or on aircraft apron/ramp areas. During interviews with airport tenants <br />and based on the inventory survey results, the limited vehicle parking is a concern <br /> <br />Currently, the San Marcos Regional Airport only has a single access road (Airport <br />Drive) that connects to TX-21. Airport Drive is constructed of asphalt and is <br />generally in good condition. It was noted that sometimes areas of standing water <br />occur along Airport Drive during periods of heavy rain. <br />Additionally, during interviews with airport tenants and stakeholders, several <br />people mentioned that Airport Drive is difficult for larger vehicles to use because <br />Inventory Chapter Page 36 of 52 <br />October 2020 <br /> <br /> <br />
