Slight declines are expected in the hours flown and <br />number of active single engine piston and multi-engine piston aircraft. Slight <br />growth is expected in the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA), rotorcraft, jet, turboprop, and <br />experimental aircraft categories. Figure 3-2 and Figure 3-3 depict these forecasted <br />trends. <br />Additionally, the total number of pilots (excluding student pilots) is expected to <br />remain flat during the same period. Declines are expected in the recreational, <br />private, and commercial pilot categories.
