<br />6. Midtown Entertainment District. The Midtown
<br />Entertainment District is defined as the area west of IH -35
<br />within CD -5, Midtown on the Comprehensive Plan. New
<br />development in this area should enhance the public realm
<br />and the pedestrian experience by defining street edges
<br />with buildings and spaces that are visually interesting
<br />and attract pedestrian activity. Providing sidewalks of
<br />sufficient width for circulation, and outdoor activities, and
<br />installing appropriate landscape and streetscape elements
<br />is important. This area is a complement to the Downtown
<br />CD -5D and is an appropriate location for density and
<br />student housing, as well as associated entertainment,
<br />restaurant, and retail services.
