• RESOLUTION NO. 2009-156R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. APPROVING AMENDMENT OF A <br />LETTER AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND DENTON, <br />NAVARRO, ROCHA & BERNAL FOR PROFESSIONAL <br />SERVICES RELATED TO POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />MEET AND CONFER NEGOTIATIONS TO INCREASE THE <br />BUDGET FOR FEES AND EXPENSES FROM $70,000 TO <br />$115,000.00 AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City has been engaged in negotiations with the unions for the Police and Fire <br />Departments. <br />2. Denton, Navarro, Rocha & Bernal has been assisting the City staff in these <br />negotiations as authorized by Resolution No. 2008-97R which approved the terms of a letter <br />agreement estimating a budget for fees and expenses of up to $70,000.00. <br />3. Negotiation of a meet and confer agreement with the police association has been <br />completed but additional legal services and expenses will be required to complete negotiation of <br />• an agreement with the fire association. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, ?? <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council hereby approves modification of the letter agreement dated <br />June 13, 2008 between the City of San Marcos, Texas and Denton, Navarro, Rocha & Bernal for <br />services in connection with the Police and Fire meet and confer negotiations to increase the <br />budget for fees and expenses by an additional sum of $45,000 for a new not to exceed total of <br />$115,000. The City Manager is authorized to execute a modified letter agreement consistent <br />with the terms of this resolution . <br />PART 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its <br />passage. <br />ADOPTED this 2nd day of November 2009. <br />?J
