65

III/L

CITY OF SAN MARCOS

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

TO:

Mayor Craddock and
Council Members

FROM:

Janis K. Womack
City Secretary

SUBJECT: Certif ica tion of Referendum Petition
of Lions Club

DATE:

February 19, 1982

RE: Agenda - February 22, 1982

A Referendum petition calling for a vote of the electors submitted
by the Lions Club requesting placement on the April 3, 1982 Election
Ballot was presented to the City Secretary on Wednesday, February 3,
1982, at 4:15 p.m. by Bobby Whiteside. The Petition was presented
in Ordinance form, a copy of which is attached hereto.

The Petition contains approximately 700 signatures. I have certified
a total of 305 valid signatures. Our Charter requires that such a
petition must contain valid signatures in the amount of ten (10%) per-
cent of the voters voting in the last Regular Election. As the amount
required is 286, based on the election records of the April 4, 1982
Regular Election, reflecting 2,853 votes were cast, the Petition is
certified as sufficient in number of valid signatures, as well as in
form and content.

~ t1 /77 ~~ ør M>1 ~ de.)
Ja: is K.
