RESOLUTION NO. 2021-161R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE <br />FUNDING TO CHRISTUS SANTA ROSA HOSPITAL IN THE SUM OF <br />$500,000 FROM AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDS FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF RETAINING EXISTING HOSPITAL STAFF AND HIRING <br />ADDITIONAL HOSPITAL STAFF, INCLUDING NURSES, IN ORDER <br />TO PROVIDE CARE FOR PATIENTS HOSPITALIZED FOR <br />TREATMENT OF COVID-19 DURING THE CURRENT SURGE IN <br />CASES IN SAN MARCOS AND WITHIN HAYS COUNTY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. A contract to provide funding to Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in the sum of <br />$500,000, from American Rescue Plan Funds received by the City of San Marcos, is hereby <br />approved in order to meet the need to retain existing nursing staff and to hire additional nursing <br />staff to provide care for patients hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19 during the current surg <br />in cases in San Marcos and within Hays County. <br />PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute a contract for this <br />purpose on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
