RESOLUTION NO.2021-240R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY AND HAYS COUNTY FOR THE CITY'S PROVISION OF PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES TO HAYS COUNTY RESIDENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. Hays County (the "County") has dedicated $85,000.00 for FY 2022 public library services in return for the City's provision of the services listed under the terms and conditions of the attached contract between the County and the City (the "Contract"). 2. The Contract allows residents of the County who reside outside of the City limits to utilize the services of the San Marcos Public Library on the same basis as residents of the City. 3. The City Council wishes to approve the Contract in order to secure funding from the County for the City's provision of public library services to County residents. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The attached Contract for the City's provision of public library services to County residents who reside outside the City limits is approved. PART 2. This Contract is entered into pursuant to the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code. PART 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of the City. PART 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
